BACKYARD bands will be able to showcase their talent at a Monash Arts Council (MAC) musical event on Saturday.
Dubbed the Backyard Bash, the event is to enable up-and-coming bands to gain valuable performing experience.
Contestants could win the opportunity to produce a professionally engineered CD.
MAC member Bob Grondman said performers would be able to network with their peers and would receive a CD copy of their work on the day.
Conditions of entry state at least one performer must live, work or study in the City of Monash. There is no age limit and performers must be non-professional.
Work submitted must be original.
“The MAC is always searching for innovative ways to encourage the arts in Monash,” Mr Grondman said.
The bash “more importantly offers performers a rare chance to practise their craft in public”.
