NEWLY re-elected Clayton MP Hong Lim will help deputy Premier John Thwaites with a new ministry portfolio.
Mr Lim was promoted by Premier Steve Bracks to be the Parliamentary Secretary for the Victorian Communities portfolio.
“I hope to contribute significantly to the work programs of this new ministry under the leadership of Mr Thwaites.”
Mr Lim said the creation of the new portfolio sent a powerful message that the Government was serious about continuing the community-building it had done over the past three years.
“Voters in Victoria want a strong economy and a vibrant, healthy and engaged community,” he said.
Mr Bracks has also retained Mr Lim as a special adviser on Victoria-Asia business relations.
Mr Lim said these responsibilities would allow him to play a very productive role as a bridge between the Government, and the aspirations of the diverse community in Clayton and Victoria.
Oakleigh MP Ann Barker was named Parliamentary Secretary for Training and Higher Education, and Mulgrave MP Daniel Andrews for health.
