THE AFL has placed a `for sale’ sign on Waverley Park by calling for expressions of interest for the 80.37-hectare property.

An advertisement in daily newspapers by a real estate company acting for the AFL, stated `Waverley Park is for sale’ and that expressions of interest closed on Friday, June, 29.

Andrew Sudholz of Anderson Real Estate said a final decision on Waverley Park would be made by November.

“The critical dates we are working to are, expressions of interest by the end of June, bids by the short listing of interested parties by the end of September, and a decision made by the end of December,” he said.

A meeting last Thursday night between Waverley Park crusader and Dandenong councillor Roz Blades and Sports Minister Justin Madden revealed plans by a developer to turn the site into a multi-facet sports facility.
