Rent move applauded
THE Tenants Union of Victoria has applauded a move by Housing Minister Bronwyn Pike to abolish the rent market test for those people seeking accelerated access to public housing.
The test required a person to receive five knock-backs in the private rental market in a fortnight.
The Tenants Union said the process was time-consuming and demoralising for the prospective tenant and a waste of time for real estate agents and landlords.
