Women making a difference

WOMEN running small businesses will be lauded at a marketing awards ceremony in Mulgrave next month.

Solutions Management established the awards this year, with the Women in Business Award recognizing the importance of women running their own business.

Solutions’ managing director Lea-Anne Brighton said many businesses had sent entries.

“These awards recognize the enormous contribution women in small business make to the general community and the Australian economy.”

The Women in Business Award will be presented at the Village Green Hotel, corner of Springvale and Ferntree Gully Roads, Mulgrave, on April 1 from 10 am-2.30.

There will be speeches from Small Business Minister Marsha Thompson, Telstra Victorian Businesswoman of the Year 2001 Judith Slocombe and aerial skiing ace and Forest Hill MP Kirstie Marshall.
