STUDENTS of Brentwood Secondary College in Glen Waverley wowed audiences with their energetic display of talent at the 2003 Know The Score Hot30 Countdown Rock Eisteddfod Challenge Melbourne heats.

Their eight-minute showcase, titledĀ The Orb, is a finalist and will be performed at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park, on Thursday and Friday, September 4 and 5.

Eisteddfod manager Belinda Sparks was thrilled with their efforts.

She said the students impressed the judges and audience with their inspirational and entertaining performance.

“The audience was provided with an awesome display of talent.

“It was a huge success with everyone coming out winners.

“I’m sure they will continue to reap the benefits of the experience long after the applause has ended.”

Brentwood won much acclaim in the heats – it received the Commonwealth Government Award of Excellence for concept, the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge Award of Excellence for set design and function, and the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge Award of Excellence for costuming: character
